This is an old revision of the document!

If you are currently logged in at your customer account, you can access this feature dirctly by following this link.

If your contract is professional or higher, it is possible to add manufacturer logos in the filters and in the Smart Suggest.

Instead of the text, that is usually shown for displaying the filter values, there will be the image of the manufacturer shown.

We suggest the following steps, when using manufacturer logos:

  1. Go to the FINDOLOGIC customer account → tab Settings → manufacturer logos and set the “Path to the directory” to the path, where all your manufacturer logos are saved (example: https://www.shop.de/logos).
  2. Create a sub-folder in this directory, which you call “vendor”. (example: https://www.shop.de/logos/vendor)
  3. Before you add the manufacturer logos, please keep in mind, that you need to select one image format for all images (either “.jpg” OR “.png” OR “.gif”).
  4. Search for your logos and put them all in the “vendor” folder.
  5. When finishing these steps correctly, vendor filter values are being showed as images in the Smart Suggest.
  6. If you want to show the manufacturer logos also in the vendor filter, you can change the vendor filter in the FINDOLOGIC customer account under → tab Settings → Filterconfiguration to “images”.
  7. If everything was configured in the right way, the vendor filter values should now be shown as images.
  8. Check the result in your shop.
FINDOLOGIC automatically adds the vendor folder to the end of the image URL. Adding www.shop.example.com/images will result in www.shop.example.com/images/vendor.

Parameters

  • Path to the directory: The path to the vendor subfolder (example: https://www.shop.de/logos).
  • Image format: Choose the format for the image (either “.jpg” OR “.png” OR “.gif”).

Filename conventions

The names of the files of the images may have to be changed due to the specific filename conventions. In the FINDOLOGIC customer account, you can find a “file name tool” that tells you, how certain images should be called:

  • All special characters (including whitespaces) will be changed to a “_”.
  • More then one “_” (“”) will get just one “_”.
  • All characters will be changed to lower case.
  • Umlauts will get replaced with their basic form (ö = o, ä = a, ü = u, ß = s).

A few examples:

Vendorname Filename
“Philips”“philips.jpg”
“The North Face”“the_north_face.jpg”
“Häagen Dazs”“haagen_dazs.jpg”
“Franc锓france.jpg”

The image format, that is set, will be the same for all images, not just for specific ones. The default filetype is “.jpg”.
Try and use almost the same size for all images to prevent scaling issues.
